Morning update - Patchy rain then brighter later today, gales but bright tomorrow



TODAY

Cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle at times along with occasional low cloud and hill fog in the south and west. This afternoon we will gradually see a change to brighter, fresher conditions from the west. Temperature 11-12°C Wind west-southwest 16-28mph becoming 24-45mph by midday and becoming west this afternoon Rainfall 1-3mm (1.4 already fallen at our lake station)



TONIGHT

A chilly night ahead with a mixture of clear spells but also occasional showers pushing in from the northwest, perhaps the odd wintry one over high ground with sleet mixed in. Temperature 4-6°C Wind west 20-35mph

Rainfall 0-2mm with localised rainfall possible



TOMORROW

The day will start bright and fresh with a mixture of clear spells, occasional areas of cloud and the odd scattered shower, although the shower risk gradually diminishes through the morning to leave behind bright conditions with sunny spells and occasional areas of cloud. Temperature 7-8°C Wind west 28-52mph with occasional gusts as high as 60mph in the west, becoming west-northwest 26-45mph during the afternoon Rainfall 0-1mm with localised rainfall possible
