Morning update - Gales and becoming wet today, turning sunny but fresh tomorrow
TODAY
Patchy rain at first but this will become heavier and more persistent from around the middle of the day onward, with a spell of much heavier rain expected early-mid afternoon as we see some localised downpours embedded, perhaps with some hail mixed in. The rain will ease somewhat but stay with us until the evening. Temperature 12-13°C but dropping to 6-7°C from mid afternoon Wind southwest 34-56mph gusting as high as 65mph for a time around the middle of the day and early afternoon before turning west-northwest 12-24mph and slowly turning back into the west by the evening time Rainfall 12-15mm
TONIGHT
Rain at first but this will soon clear, although the cloud and wind will remain for most of the night and this will keep the temperature up, preventing a frost from developing until dawn. Temperature 2-4°C for the bulk of the night but dropping closer to 0-2°C by dawn Wind west 12-20mph becoming north 6-12mph by dawn
Rainfall 1-3mm
TOMORROW
Any remaining cloud during the morning will soon clear to give a fine, sunny day with almost unbroken sunshine. Temperature 4-5°C Wind north 10-17mph becoming 12-21mph
