Snow flurries today, heavier spells of snow tonight, the odd flurry tomorrow.

This afternoon

A cloudy afternoon with snow flurries which may be somewhat persistent at first and this may be enough for a covering on the hills and perhaps a dusting on the cars and grass although the ground temperature is still rather high which means most falling snow will melt. Temperature 3'c at first falling to 1'c to 2'c in most places through the afternoon

Wind NE 25-32mph

Snowfall 0.3-0.8cm (falling)

Tonight

Further snow flurries likely as we head in to the night and these may become heavier for a time giving slight to moderate accumulations of up to 5cm over the hills although it seems likely that 1-3cm may fall in other areas, especially southern parts of the island. Where the heaviest snow falls there is likely to be drifting, especially over high ground or exposed open areas. We are still somewhat uncertain of how much snow is likely to fall due to a very mixed computer model output. Temperature 0'c in the far east and south, -2'c to -1'c in other areas.

Wind NE 25-30mph becoming ENE 32-40mph

Snowfall 1cm -3cm (falling) but possibly more in some places

Tomorrow

Overcast with snow flurries at times throughout the day although they will be mostly light.

Temperature 1'c to 2'c but possibly as high as 3'c in eastern and southern parts

Wind ENE 32-38mph becoming 38-35mph

Snowfall 0.2-1cm (falling)
